Stoner dan Simoncelli Akan di Gaet Montezemolo?
Ternyata bagi presiden Ferrari, ia lebih tertarik untuk mengunjungi Marco Simoncelli ketimbang mengunjungi Valentino Rossi nih mas bro. Montezemolo mau merekrut Casey Stoner dan Marco Simoncelli untuk tim Ferrari. Sepertinya memang tidak masuk akal. Mengingat bahwa keduanya merupakan pembalap MotoGP yang sedang bertarung musim ini dan keduanya tidak memiliki basis untuk menjadi pembalap di ajang balap single seater. Tapi Montezemolo merasa itu bukanlah masalah yang besar. Dari sisi filosofis, memiliki pembalap yang cepat adalah lebih penting, baik untuk balap motor maupun balap mobil baginya.
Hal ini dikatakan oleh Motezemolo sesaat sebelum sesi kualifikasi MotoGP Italia (2/7) pekan lalu. “Jika saya akan merekrut dua pembalap MotoGP untuk tim Ferrari di Formula 1, maka saya akan merekrut Stoner dan Simoncelli. Stoner adalah pembalap yang sangat cepat dan cukup serius, sementara Simoncelli mengingatkan saya pada Gilles Villeneuve pada awal karirnya di F1. Hal yang lebih penting di ajang balap adalah yang paling cepat, karena jika anda lamban akan sulit mengejar ketertinggalan,” papar Montezemolo.
Montezemolo juga berharap bahwa ia Simoncelli bisa mengharumkan nama Italia tahun ini. Pasalnya ia adalah pembalap muda dan mempunyai talenta yang cukup bagus terlepas dari kontroversi yang dilakukannya musim ini.
Pernyataan Montezemolo ini tentunya akan menyisakan pertanyaan bro. Bagaimana dengan komitmennya untuk memberikan Rossi kesempatan untuk pembalap ketiga di tim Ferrari?
