Rumor paling santer adalah si Yamaha X-Ride, Skutik maskulin yang menyasar kawula muda. Selain itu Yamaha juga menyiapkan Yamaha X-Ride versi modifikasi untuk dijadikan inspirasi modifikasi calon konsumennya yang menyasar segmen anak muda yang aktif dan berjiwa trend setter.
Ngutip dari otomotif bahwa lewat motor ini, PT YIMM mengaku siap membuka segmen pasar baru dan telah siap dengan resikonya. “Iya kami akan mencoba membuka pasar baru,” buka Dyonisius Beti, Executive Vice President Director PT YIMM ketika ditemui awal Februari 2013 lalu di sela peluncuran Mio GT.”Untuk jadi trendsetter kami harus lebih dulu. Pasti ada resikonya, mencoba jadi trendsetter bisa sukses bisa juga tidak,” ungkapnya penuh percaya diri.
Nah dalam hal ini bukannya Honda menjadi cemberut karena kompatitornya makin berani dan kini membuka lahan baru, tapi justru malah tertawa girang karena Honda menganggap ini akan menjadi kelinci percobaan sukses tidaknya segmen ini. Kalau sukses Honda tinggal bikin yang serupa, kalau tidak sukses abaikan saja, hahahaha. Ya seperti pengalaman masa lalu ketika Yamaha bikin Mio lalu sukses, Honda mengeluarkan Beat dan kawan-kawan, lalu ketika N 250 sukses Honda Mengeluarkan CBR, ya anggap saja sebuah strategi, hehehehe.
