Ya, ketika FP3 digelar pada Sabtu (25/6), Lorenzo terjatuh dan terseret ke gravel hingga badannya lecet. Hal ini nampaknya memberi efek pada berlangsungnya babak kualifikasi sore harinya. Lorenzo hanya mampu berada di urutan ke-11, jauh dibandingkan hasilnya di sirkuit-sirkuit lain. Berikut statmennya:
“Kecelakaan itu cukup parah meskipun penyebabnya sederhana, kehilangan grip ban depan. Namun di tikungan yang kencang”
“Tau-tau saya dah nyium gravel mas bro. padahal saat itu masih dalam kecepatan tinggi lelu kemudian terguling-guling di atas gravel. Leherku kena kriki, kemudian juga punggung dan pinggang saya. Makaya kulit saya lecet-lecet dan sangat nyeri. Untungnya sih tulang saya tidak ada masalah jadi saya bisa membalap tanpa masalah.”
Hanya saja Lorenzo tidak mau menyalahkan kondisinya usai terjatuh dikaitkan dengan hasil buruknua di kualifikasi.
“Gak ngefek lah bro, hanya merasa tidak aman atau nyaman aja saat hujan dan memakai ban basah. Saya berusaha melakukan yang terbaik namun tetap lambat.”
