2 Pebalap Binaan Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) Berlaga Perdana Di Sirkuit Estoril, Portugal
Gelaran CEV International Championship kembali menghadirkan tantangan besar ni Gan. Dua Pebalap Binaan Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) yaitu Andi “Gilang” Farid Izdihar dan Dimas Ekky Pratama akan berlaga di sirkuit Estoril. Untuk pertama kalinya,Andi Gilang dan Dimas Ekky akan berlaga menaklukkan sirkuit Estorial, Portugal selama berkarir di CEV Junior World Championship. Balapan perdana di sirkuit ini menuntut persiapan teknik balap dan stamina tinggi bagi kedua pebalap Indonesia agar dapat kembali mengibarkan bendera Merah Putih di ajang balap internasional. Karena . Sirkuit Estoril dikenal sulit untuk ditaklukkan oleh para pebalap karena memilki keunikan tersendiri. Karakter sirkuit dengan trek lurusdan kombinasi 13 tikungan tajam akan menguji skill balap para pebalap binaan PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) ini. Selain itu, Andi Gilang dan Dimas Ekky harus mewaspadai faktor cuaca yang sulit diprediksi.
Maka dari itu untuk bisa lancar ngaspal di sirkuit Estoril, Andi Gilang dan Dimas Ekky sudah melakukan persiapan matang ni Gan. Diantaranya, mengasah kemampuan pengereman dengan titik yang semakin dekat (hard breaking) yang akan sangat membantu raih hasil optimal pada balapan kali ini. Posisi 10 besar yang diraih kedua pebalap muda binaan AHRT ini pada seri sebelumnya menjadi bekal tersendiri. Sebelumnya, Dimas Ekky pun telah berhasil memenuhi target podium pada putaran ke-4 di sirkuit Catalunya, Spanyol.
Selain latihan teknik balap, kebugaran fisik juga dijaga Andi Gilang dan Dimas Ekky untuk mendapatkan hasil positif pada seri ke-4 gelaran CEV International Championship akhir pekan nanti. Dimas Ekky yang bertarung di kelas CEV Moto2 European Championship menjaga kebugaran tubuh dan stamina dengan rutin bersepeda di sela-sela jadwal latihannya. Sedangkan bagi Andi Gilang, balapan di sirkuit Estoril merupakan seri yang ditunggu untuk dapat meraih podium seperti rekan setimnya, Dimas Ekky. Apalagi, peningkatan adaptasi anak kelahiran Bulukumba, Sulawesi Selatan ini semakin hari semakin baik. Pengendara Honda NSF250RW semakin menyatu dengan motor balapnya. Pengalaman di berbagai karakter sikruit yang digunakan juga memberi banyak pengetahuan yang sangat berguna baginya.
General Manager Marketing Planning & Analysis Division AHM Agustinus Indraputra mengatakan para pebalap binaannya merupakan pebalap-pebalap tangguh yang tidak pantang menyerah. Meski baru pertama kali balapan di sirkuit Estoril, Portugal, prestasi raihan posisi 10 besar pada seri sebelumnya diharapkan dapat memberikan motivasi kuat bagi mereka untuk kembali mencetak prestasi membanggakan untuk bangsa.
Kelas CEV Moto2 European Championship akan digelar pada Minggu, 23 Juli 2017 pukul 17:45 WIB dan pukul 19:45 WIB. Sementara itu, kelas CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship akan berlangsung pada hari Minggu, 23 Juli 2017 pukul 18:45 WIB.
