Kecelakaan beruntun di depan Universitas Peradaban, Paguyangan, Brebes, Minggu, 8 April 2018. Info di lapangan menyebutkan, awalnya truk tak kuat naik menuju floyver Kretek, mundur dan menabrak mobil dan bus di belakangnya.
Menurut penuturna sopir truk yang bernaman Lukman, kecelakaan berruntun Brebes hari ini tersebut bermula saat truk yang iakendarai ketikaitu melintas di jalur utama Tegal-Purwokerto, tepatnya di ruas Paguyangan, Brebes, di depan Kampus Universitas Peradaban. Mendadak kendaraannya mundur kemudian menabrak dua bis yakni PO DMI dan Sumber Alam plus satu mobil panther.
Lebih lanjut menurut kumparan, pengemudi truk telah berusaha oper ke gigi rendah, namun tetap gagal maju, hingga kampas koplingpun jebol. Selanjutnya truk menabrak sisi kiri mobil Panther, kemudian menabrak dua bis di belakangnya. Truk tersebut lantas terperosok ke pinggir jalan, sementara 2 bis yang ditabrakan alias Kunduran, melintang menutupi jalur utama.
Masih menurut pengemudi truk ini, selang angin bagian rem pecah menyebabkan rem blond dan kopling tidak berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya.
Sementara itu menurut pengakuan sopir bis PO DMI yang ketabrak truk mundur tadi, Suradi, dikatahui bahwa bis yang ia kendarai sebenarnya melaju pelan. Namun dari depan, mendadak meluncur truk minyak ini ke arahnya dengan pergerakan mundur. Kemudian pengemudi Buspun lompat. Ndilalahnya gan seluruh penumpan bus yang ia kendarai yang berjumlah 20 orang,semuanya selamat dan tidak mengalami luka serius. Pasca kecelakaan berruntun di Brebes ini Jalur Tegal-Purwokerto tertutup gan, macetan hingga beberapa kilometer.
