Dilansir Dailymail, Jumat, (6/1/2017), pengemudi Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe terjun bebas ke danau Audley, pada Rabu dini hari, sekira pukul 01.30 waktu setempat. Tidak disebutkan siapa nama pengemudi itu. Namun diketahui, sang sopir hilang kendali saat melintasi jalan di Royal National Park.
Di sepajang danau tersebut tidak ada pagar pembatas, melainkan hanya beberapa patok baja dengan rentang jarak cukup jauh. Tak heran jika tidak waspada siapapun bisa nyebur ke danau.
Menurut pihak kepolisian, tidak ada korban jiwa dalam insiden tersebut. Dibutuh waktu cukup lama bagi polisi dan tim pemadam kebakaran melakukan evakuasi.
Si pengemudi cukup beruntung, karena volume air danau tidak terlalu tinggi. Kendati demikian, sedan berkelir putih asal Jerman tersebut harus diperbaiki secara total mengingat seluruh mobil terendam air.
