Kejadianpada hari ini, Kamis (9/8/2018) sekitar pukul 12:25 WIB. Gempa yang terjadi pada hari ini berkekuatan 6.2 SR, dengan pusat getaran di kedalaman: 12 Km. Ya musibah besar gan, tapi untungnya tidak berpotensi tsunami. Menurut Ifo BMKG Gempa ini bermagnitude 6.2, terjadi tepatnya 09-Aug-2018 Pkl. 12:25:32 WIB dengan Lokasi titik koordinat di 8.36 LS 116.22 BT (6 km BaratLaut LOMBOKUTARA-NTB), Kedalaman: 12 Km.
Secara detail belum diketahui apakah gempa terbaru ini menimbulkan kerusakan lagi yang baru, disamping kerusakan lama yang telah terjadi beberapa hari lalu, mengingat Lombok sudah dua kali diguncang gempa dahsyat sebelumnya.

Saat terjadig empa, warga yang kaget atas musibah gempa ini ramai-ramai berhamburan ke luar rumah. Warga berlarian ke kamp pengungsian yang berlokasi di Lapangan Perum Grand Kodya, Kota Mataram, Nusa Tenggara Barat.
Gempa Lombok yang ke 2 ini dirasakan dari berbagaitempat diLombok, mulai di Lombok Utara, Mataram, Lombok Tengah dan Sumbawa. Getarannya juga terasa di Klungkung dan Denpasar, Bali. Menurut catatan dari Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG), diketahui bahwa sejauh ini telah terjadi sebanyak 344 kali gempa di Lombok sampai Kamis (9/8/2018) pagi.
Menurut petugas BMKG, gempa susulan ini kekuatannya semakin melemah dan tidak berdampak yang merusak. Oleh karenanya masyarakat Lombok diperbolehkan untuk kembali ke rumah masing-masing. Kemudian, titik puncak getaran gempa dan potensi tsunami sudah terlewati, jadisubdah aman.
